Declaration Process and Scoring Limits – Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field

Modify the playing rules (Rule 7-1) to require declaration of student-athletes who are eligible to score in an indoor or outdoor track and field competition, as follows (text to be added in bold):

Rule 7, Section 1: Scoring – Track and Field
Team Scoring – Outdoor
ARTICLE 1. For outdoor track and field competitions, any team entering more than 34 competitors in the meet must declare prior to the competition a maximum of 34 competitors who may score team points. Competitors who are not declared may participate in all rounds of the competition and receive any individual honors but shall not count toward the team’s overall score. Competitors who are not declared shall be removed from the order of finish for the purpose of determining team scores.

Competitors who are not declared may participate in all rounds of the competition and receive any individual honors but shall not count toward the team’s overall score. Competitors who are not declared shall be removed from the order of finish for the purpose of determining team scores.
