Job Description
The State University of New York at Oneonta is seeking applications for the position of Associate Head Coach, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field. This is a full-time, 10-month, non-tenure position working primarily with throws events. The Institution is a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and sponsors 21 Division III varsity sports.

Duties include but not limited to:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting with all aspects of coaching, recruiting, administrating, and managing a NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field program
- Primary responsibilities will be coaching throws directly while indirectly assisting with other events
- The successful recruitment of academic and athletically talented student athletes
- Academic monitoring and retention of student-athletes
- Assisting with the team budget and scheduling practices
- Throws facility oversight
- Enforcement of NCAA, conference, and departmental rules, regulations, and compliance
- Participation in student development initiatives
- Assisting with the coordination of community service efforts
- Team fundraising.
- They will possess the ability to effectively communicate with a range of constituents and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Track and field collegiate coaching or competition experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Effective written, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- Experience as a collegiate throws coach
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations
- USTFCCCA or USATF coaching certifications or coursework
- CSCS or other strength and conditioning certifications
- Experience working with and serving diverse populations
