Graduate Assistant

The University of Rio Grande is seeking high energy extremely motivated individuals to join the Athletic Department in the men’s and women’s sports of Cross Country and Track and Field. These individuals are responsible for assisting the coaching staff to administer and organize all aspects of a collegiate program. Rio Grande is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA) and the River States Conference. The University of Rio Grande offers 22 intercollegiate athletic programs.

Requirements:

• Must be admitted into the graduate program
• Have a valid United States Driver’s License
• Available to work evenings and weekends
• Travel will be required for this position to participate in scheduled cross country, track and field events, and recruiting

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow the NAIA and conference rules and regulations
• Help in the recruitment and retention of student athletes
• Coach individuals or events as directed by the head coach
• Assist in the planning, implementing, and evaluating practices and meets
• Drive university or rental vehicles when needed
• Help in additional duties required by the director of athletics

Proposed Work Schedule: 26.5 Hours/week
