Job Description

The Mount St. Joseph University Track team is seeking a seasonal / part-time coach to work with our Distance Group. This is an entry level position, so we encourage everyone among all skill and experience levels to apply. This position will effectively be an apprenticeship with our Cross Country Assistant Coach and our Head Track and Field / Cross Country Coach.

We have a n Assistant Cross Country Coach whose knowledge and experience are tremendous, but unfortunately he does not have as much time as we wish he did to be here with us. This position will work closely with our Cross Country Coach to learn how to structure practice, learn how developing and modifying workouts to fit the needs and abilities of the individual runners. While learning from our Assistant Cross Country Coach about distance coaching, you’ll be learning from our Head Track and Field / Cross Country Coach about recruiting, keep track of pacing during track season as well as meet management.

This position will require long hours of recruiting, going to meets on the weekend and also in person coaching and management at practice. We are seeking applicants that have an abundance of time, energy and desire to learn and grow within track and field as well as cross country.

Our long term goal is to be able to pay this position more as the experience and knowledge of the person in this role grows.
