Job Description
Belmont University’s Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Coach position with its Track & Field/Cross Country program for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years. The successful candidate will report to the Associate Head Coach – Track & Field and will assist with various coaching, recruiting, and administrative tasks.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into Belmont University’s Sport Administration graduate program or another approved graduate program. The ideal candidate will have competed at the NCAA Division I level, performing with distinction as the member of a competitive track & field or cross-country program. Experience with sprints/jumps/multi events and desire to be a coach is a plus. Additional requirements include strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills; the ability to work well in a team environment; the capacity to model mature, responsible leadership. The candidate must be willing to work weekends and holidays and travel with the track and cross-country teams to competitions. Applicants must submit to a criminal background check, subject to review and approval by Belmont University.
Compensation: The graduate assistantship includes a waiver of 100% of the tuition and consolidated graduate student fees required by the Master of Sport Administration (MSA) graduate program, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduate program, and the Educational Leadership (M.Ed) graduate program, not to exceed a total of 36 credit hours. The graduate assistantship will not cover additional costs associated with the program, including but not limited to: books, study abroad expenses, additional course/program expenses, etc. Graduate assistants must maintain at least 6 hours of graduate-level credit per semester to be eligible.
