Create a streamlined NCAA portal experience for both athletes, coaches, and administrators
The NCAA Transfer Portal has become a vital resource for both athletes seeking new opportunities and programs seeking to fill specific roster needs. However, in its current form, the portal lacks critical data points—such as athlete position, key performance statistics, and other pertinent metrics—that would dramatically improve its usability and efficiency.
With the increased volume of entries driven by changing eligibility rules and the growth of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, coaches now face the challenge of sifting through thousands of profiles manually, using inconsistent outside sources just to assess a potential recruit’s performance and fit.
This proposal is to make the NCAA aware of such challenges in an effort to alleviate issues surrounding the transfer portal as outlined above. Each sport has its own challenges, and having a more comprehensive portal will benefit athletes, coaches, and administrators throughout the transfer process.
