Augustana University (SD) is seeking qualified applicants for a Graduate Fellowship for Cross-Country/Track & Field, 12-month Master’s in Sports Administration and Leadership program, averaging 15 hours per week, within our Athletics Department.

An Augustana graduate fellowship or scholarship is offered to students pursuing a Master of Sports Administration & Leadership (MSAL) who must execute 480 internship hours within the Augustana University Athletics Department. This is an unpaid position that offers a 50% tuition benefit, and is based on admission into the Augustana MSAL Program and completion of this application, including the required essay and an interview with a member of the athletics department. AU graduate fellowships are competitive with limited availability per area of interest. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree prior to starting the AU MSAL Program. Student-athletes and graduate assistants are not eligible for a graduate fellowship.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist Head Coach in all day-to-day operation of the sports program.
• Assist with coordinating student-athlete activities including but not limited to, conditioning, on-court training, scouting, recruitment and academic services as designated by the Head Coach.
• Assist and organize tournaments and other fundraisers.
• Adhere to all NCAA and Conference affiliated bylaws set forth by the governing bodies, including Augustana University and Department of Athletics operating procedures as required of all department employees.
• Required to take and pass the NCAA Coaches Annual Exam.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

• A knowledge of cross-country/track & field.
• Former cross-country/track & field student-athlete.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Admission into the Augustana University MSAL Program.
• Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in computer application knowledge and demonstrates initiative.
