Job Description: The Athletic Department is looking for a graduate assistant who will help support the function and work under the direct supervision of the Cross Country and Track & Field Head Coach.

Reports To: Cross Country and Track & Field Head Coach

Target Weekly Hours: 20

FLSA Status: Exempt

PLEASE NOTE: Admission to a graduate program is required and interested candidates are encouraged to apply for the GA position and Graduate admission concurrently.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To assist the Cross Country and Track & Field Coach in building and managing a dynamic team program where players demonstrate exceptional skills while fully committed to the mission and goals of the program while adhering to NCAA rules and regulations
• Attend classes to successfully complete a graduate program at Marymount University.
• Assist in recruiting, scouting, and practice planning.
• Coordinate video and statistical analysis.
• Perform meet day duties as assigned.
• Monitor equipment inventory and care.
• Assist with organizational planning (travel, community service, study hall, etc.).
• Support athlete development and assist with roster management.
• Help with the planning and organization of camps and clinics.
• Follow Athletic Department Policy and Procedures.
• Provide positive leadership for student-athletes by example.
• Know and comply with all NCAA rules and regulations.
• Annually pass the NCAA Coach’s Certification Exam.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Proficient in social media content creation and profile management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelors degree and successful admittance and enrollment to a Marymount University graduate degree program
• Experience: Combined Events athletic participation or coaching experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid drivers license
• Financial Responsibility: None
• Supervision: None

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to travel; heavy lifting required (50 pounds and over); may be required to work when the university is closed. Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
