Job Description

Eastern Illinois University is seeking graduate candidates for a Graduate Assistant position with the Track & Field/Cross Country program beginning August 1, 2026.

Opportunities and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Working in collaboration with EIU coaching staff in all aspects of the TF/CC program
• Identify and recruit qualified student-athletes to EIU
• Assist in coordinating recruiting activities and meetings on campus
• Heavily involved in day-to-day and long term operations planning for the TF/CC program
• Responsible for attending all practices and competitions
• Home meet management
• Abide by all written policies, procedures, and guidelines of Eastern Illinois University, the Department of Athletics, Ohio Valley Conference, and NCAA
• Coaching duties will be assigned based on area(s) of expertise (if applicable)
• Other duties as assigned

Two-year program. Contract runs August 1st through May 31st (10 months). Includes tuition waiver and $1,100/month stipend. Waiver does not cover fees.

Currently, more than 1,600 part-time and full-time graduate students are enrolled, and more than 300 faculty hold graduate faculty status.

Previous collegiate Track and Field experience are highly preferred.

Offer is contingent on acceptance into EIU Graduate School and full admission into a Master’s program.
