Job Description

Job Duties Include the Following:

1. Assist the program in all aspects of coaching, planning, and management of the men’s and women’s CC and T&F programs.

• Assist the head coach in planning and implementing training programs for CC and T&F.
• Provide quality coaching and instruction to student-athletes throughout the upcoming CC/T&F season.
• Attend all practices, meetings, competitions, camps, and assist with meet and meet management.
• Assist with meet preparation, travel logistics, equipment management, and day-to-day operations.
• Support the overall development and success of the men’s and women’s CC and T&F programs.

2. Recruiting Expectations.

• Assist in recruitment and retention of the roster.
• Locate and evaluate prospective student-athletes that fit the program’s needs.
• Create consistent communication with recruits and coaches to grow the pipeline.
• Assist with coordinating on campus visits throughout the season.

3. Compliance.

• Understand adhere to all NCAA Division III, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), and University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh policies and procedures.
• Follow all NCAA, WIAC, and institutional rules and regulations.
• Complete all required compliance needs and professional development training.

4. Other Duties.

• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head CC/Assistant T&F Coach or Department of Athletics.

Education and Certification Requirements

Required

• Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred

• Master’s degree.

Experience and Competency Requirements

Required

• Drivers license.
• One (1) or more years of coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cross country and/or track & field training and competition.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Three (3) or more years of collegiate coaching experience.
• Experience recruiting student-athletes at the collegiate level.
• Experience in meals, travel, lodging, equipment, and meet management.

Prerequisites

• Employment in this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
