Job Description

 

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), a NCAA DII institution and proud member of the Northeast-10 Conference, is excited to invite applications for the position of Part-Time Assistant Track & Field Coach. You will report to the Director of Cross-Country and Track and Field and implement training programs for multi-events, throwing events, or other field events. (SNHU does not field a men’s track & field team.)

Work Hours: 10-20 hours per week. Practice times can vary depending on the season and athlete class schedule, but we ask that you are able to travel and work variable hours, including nights and weekends for some competitions.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan and lead daily training sessions for the throwing events, including warm-up routines, technical drills and aid in the strength program.
  • Develop personalized training plans to help athlete’s achieve their goals.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to athletes on proper techniques during training and at competitions.
  • Motivate athletes to achieve their goals in a supportive and positive environment.
  • Help us recruit specific student-athletes involved in throwing events.
  • Work with other coaches, staff, and administrators to ensure the success of the track and field program.
  • Provide mentorship and support for student-athletes, focusing on their academic, athletic, and personal development.
  • Ensure compliance with all NCAA, NE10 Conference, and SNHU policies and regulations.

What we’re looking for:

  • 1+ years coaching and/or personal athletic experience in multi-events, throwing events, or other field events.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of coaching experience in multi-events, throwing events, or other field events.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and be eligible to be insured by the university’s auto insurance carrier to drive team vans to competitions when needed.

Compensation-

Up to $15,000 stipend, paid hourly.

1 Free online course per 8-week term for 4 terms annually to work towards Master Degree ($8,000 value).
