Job Description

 

The Associate Head Track & Field Coach / Assistant Cross Country Coach — Throws specialist will partner with the Director of Cross Country / Track and Field in various areas of responsibility, including the recruitment of student-athletes, meet-day organization, ordering equipment, viable fundraising, public relations, and other duties as assigned by either the Director or the Director of Athletics.

About the Position

  • College-level coaching experience preferred.
  • Area of expertise in the throwing events
  • Help create an overall positive and successful environment for the student-athletes of the cross country and track and field programs.
  • Help foster a team culture that is focused and driven to succeed academically and athletically, while serving the community.
  • Provide oversight and evaluation of the daily progress of the throws student-athletes, including strength training, conditioning, and student-athlete academic, personal, and athletic development.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of practice, competitions, travel, equipment, paperwork, and any other administrative duties set forth by the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA and college policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the coaching staff and athletic department as a whole.
  • Assist other staff members with activities as needed to reach the overall competitive and recruitment goals.
  • Monitor the academic progress and development of student-athletes
  • Conduct and supervise athletically related activities for distance training groups daily.
  • Assist with monitoring and creating content on social media.
  • Assist in all fundraising and community service opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
  • Competitive coaching background.
  • Must have a strong commitment to the safety and welfare of student-athletes.
  • Ability to work on weekends, evenings, and odd hours.

12 month position/$53,000 + benefits
