Position Summary:

Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Assistant Coach for Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country in the Athletics department. This is a 40 week position.

The candidate would be expected to: coach student-athletes who participate in middle distance and distance events in cross-country and track; plan and direct practices for student-athletes who participate in middle distance and distance events; keep a log of all calls, contacts, and evaluations for potential student-athletes; assist in scheduling and planning for competitive meets away from campus, including assisting in making travel arrangements for the team and arranging for overnight travel and meals when needed.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree, Valid Automobile Driver’s License in your state of principal residence, CPR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire

Required Skills or Software:

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must have an understanding of the University’s concern for academics as well as athletic excellence

Required Years of Experience: 1

Other Requirements:

Cross-country/track and field coaching experience at high school or collegiate level.

Preferred Qualifications:

Competitive experience as a track and field/cross-country student-athlete at the collegiate level.
