The Department of Athletics at the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of assistant coach of cross country and track & field. Expectations include coaching various event groups of a cross country and track & field program, recruiting, public relations efforts, practice and competition preparation, monitoring the academic progress of the team student-athletes, and coordinating team community service activities. Position may include evenings and weekends.

SUNY Oneonta is a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), one of the oldest small college conferences in the nation. The College sponsors 21 Division III varsity sports with 23 full-time coaches and support staff including three certified athletic trainers. Duties include but not limited to: coaching various event groups of a cross country and track & field program, recruiting, public relations/social media, practice and competition preparation, monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, and coordinating team community service activities. Position may include evenings and weekends. Consideration will be given to all event areas.
Required qualifications: bachelor’s degree and appropriate college coaching and/or playing experience, CPR/First Aid certification.
Preferred: any USATF or USTFCCCA technical or event certifications, strength and conditioning experience or certifications, or any other related athletic/coaching certifications, and experience working with and serving diverse populations.
