Job Description

Responsibilities: Part Time Assistant Coach (Throws)
Perform duties of an assistant coach including, but not limited to:
* Practice and meet preparation; supervision of student-athletes – specifically shot put, weight, hammer, discus, javelin
* Recruit student-athletes for all throwing events
* Administrative responsibilities: help with team transportation (driving vans, picking up meals, etc.), log throwers’ practices and strength training
* Fund-raising: assist with track and field camp and with other projects as assigned by the head coach
* Fall Season: create and implement conditioning and training plans for throwing group
* Coordinate with Strength Coach on needs of throws group in terms of weight room / strength training
* Assist with all team community service events
* Communicate equipment needs to head coach; work within program budget
* Travel and nights/weekends should be expected

* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution and 2-3 years collegiate coaching experience with throwers are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with previous collegiate coaching and competition experience.
