Job Description

New Jersey Institute of Technology, a NCAA Division I member of the America East Conference, is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field Coach. Responsibilities include assisting the Head Coach in the overall management of the Men’s & Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field program with an emphasis on training and coaching cross country runners and distance events.

Additional duties include organizing, preparing, and conducting individual, group team practices for cross country and distance runners, supporting the recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes. Assist with the planning & preparation for competitions and team travel including itineraries, meals, lodging, transportation, entries and entry fees. Assist with managing equipment and apparel inventory and orders. Other job duties include complying with NCAA and university regulations, and participating in community service programs.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Collegiate competitive or coaching experience required. Strong management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and a valid driver’s license are required. CPR/AED/First Aid certified. The successful candidate shall be a person of integrity with high ethical standards, and exhibit a strict allegiance to university, department, and NCAA rules and regulations, as well as a solid commitment to student achievement in academics.
