Job Description

Assumption University is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable part time assistant track and field coach, specializing in the horizontal and vertical jumps with experience in the sprints a plus. This individual will work closely with the Director of Track and Field to support all aspects of coaching, recruiting, and athlete development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement technical training programs for horizontal and vertical jumpers.
• Assist with daily practice planning, event coaching and meet day preparation and execution.
• Support recruiting efforts by identifying and engaging with prospective student-athletes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes in line with the program’s goals and values.
• Assist the Director of Track and Field with administrative duties as needed.
• Maintain compliance with all institutional, conference, department and NCAA rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Prior coaching or competitive experience in the jumps required.
• Strong understanding of biomechanics, technique, and periodization for jumps training. Assistance with sprints training is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for competitions.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Compensation:

This is a part-time, stipend based position. Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
