Job Description

 

Example of Duties:

This position involves frequent verbal, written, and email correspondence with students, parents, faculty and staff. The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and implement the training and coaching of the jump events under the supervision of the Director of Cross Country/Track and Field.
  • Assist with team operations, practices and competitions, travel, fundraising, equipment management, official and unofficial campus visits, creativity for social media platforms, and team bonding activities.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes who embody Eastern’s core mission and values.
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and personal development.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Embody values of compassion and integrity, treating each member of the campus community with fairness, dignity, and respect.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy and the student-athlete experience.
  • Monitor and adhere to Eastern University, Title IX, NCAA and MAC policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Collegiate-level track & field experience in any of the jump events.
  • Must be able to perform duties within the normal bounds of an office environment as well as work in a variety of weather conditions and sit/stand for long periods of time.

Compensation:
Includes Stipend ($10,000), Housing, Meals, Tuition Remission (18 credits annually)

Desired Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work independently, has excellent organization and communication skills (orally and in writing) and will be someone who is able to interpret, apply, and comply with all NCAA and MAC rules and regulations. Desire to pursue a coaching career is also preferred.
