Job Title: Assistant Coach, Track & Field/Cross Country (Part-Time)

Reporting To: Head Cross Country Coach & Director of Track & Field/Cross Country

Location: Boston University

General Description:

Assist the head coach in operating a successful Track & Field/Cross Country program, focusing on athlete development and overall team excellence. The role supports student-athletes’ growth academically, socially, and athletically, and contributes to the program’s recruiting, compliance, and operational responsibilities. Seeking a coach with knowledge of the distance events.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • 35% – Coaching & Athlete Development: Teach and prepare student-athletes during organized practices and guide them to perform successfully in competition.
  • 25% – Student-Athlete Support & Mentorship: Serve as an educator and mentor, supporting the physical, mental, academic, and social well-being of all student-athletes in the program.
  • 25% – Recruiting & Retention: Recruit and retain student-athletes who are capable of succeeding both academically and athletically at Boston University. This may include international travel.
  • 10% – Program Operations: Manage operational tasks and responsibilities as delegated by the head coach.
  • 5% – Compliance: Ensure all actions and program activities comply with applicable university, local, league, and NCAA rules and regulations.
