Job Description
Loyola University New Orleans, a member of the NAIA and Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) is seeking a full-time Assistant Track and Field / Cross-Country Coach to be the lead coach for the Sprints, Hurdles and Jumps event group.
Duties to include:
- Coach, as the primary event coach, the sprints, hurdles and jumps event group.
- Co-oversee a graduate assistant coach who will assist with this event group.
- Establish, maintain and adjust as necessary appropriate individual and group training and competition plans.
- Lead recruiter for the Sprints, Hurdles and Jumps event group
- Attend required Athletic Department functions (staff meetings, banquets, etc)
- Assist with a variety of administrative duties to include academic monitoring of student-athletes, fundraising, equipment inventory, travel, practice logistics among others
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrate a passion for coaching and developing well-rounded student-athletes
- 2(+) years of experience in coaching the Sprints, Hurdles and/or Jumping events, preferably at the collegiate level
- Knowledge of Loyola University, SSAC and NAIA rules and regulations.
- Ability to effectively manage student-athletes individual coaching/training needs as well as the entire group
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with student-athletes, recruits and fellow coaches.
- Ability to work independently and proactively as well as in a team environment.
- Attention to detail, adherence to deadlines and demonstrate fiscal responsibility
- Must pass a driver’s background check and be comfortable driving university vehicles for practice and competition (12 passenger vans).
- Candidate should be immediately eligible to work in the US (position will not provide work visa sponsorship at this time)
- Compensation: $37,000 (firm), benefits eligible, 12-month position
