Job Description
Part-time assistant sought for track and field. The ideal candidate would assist with the sprint program and have background in sprint training, especially the 400m. Precise track & field coaching duties will be determined by the Head Coach. The candidate must be willing to learn how to operate and win utilizing the Adams State philosophy. This position will also allow for further education via Masters degree programs offered at Adams State University.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Provide coaching and instruction to student-athletes participating in the program;
- Assist the head coach with administrative duties and program oversight as directed;
- Support the head coach;
- Assist with actively recruiting new student-athletes to the program within ASU and NCAA Division II guidelines;
- Support the academic progress of all team members;
- Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and conduct representative of the coaching profession and ASU Athletics;
- Maintain compliance with rules and regulations of all conference and NCAA;
- Assist with general facility upkeep and maintenance;
- Complete the annual NCAA coach’s rules test;
- Attend college and departmental meetings as required;
- Ensure student-athlete compliance with all University policies applicable to all students;
- Mentor and develop a positive culture for student-athletes.
- Related duties as assigned by the head coach.
Pay will be based on experience and qualifications.
