GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Tiffin University, a proud member of NCAA Division II, invites applications for the position of Assistant Track & Field Coach specializing in Horizontal Jumps and Combined Events. The successful candidate will support the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field in all aspects of the Track & Field program, including (but not limited to) directing a competitive NCAA Division II program in accordance with the University, Conference, and NCAA rules and procedures; recruitment and development of student-athletes, as well as a commitment to student-athletes personal and academic welfare, and a commitment to gender and ethnic diversity and willingness to learn about media relations activities.

Requirements

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coach and develop student-athletes in the horizontal jumps and combined events.
  • Assist with the planning and running of practices, workouts, and technical sessions.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Coaches to develop seasonal training plans.
  • Scout and recruit qualified prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA rules.
  • Monitor student athletes’ academic progress and well-being.
  • Assist with meet management, travel arrangements, and program logistics.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure a safe training environment.
  • Represent the university in a professional manner at competitions, camps, and clinics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES FOR THE JOB

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.

Experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in coaching horizontal jumps and/or combined events.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
  • Collegiate-level coaching or competitive experience in jumps/combined events is preferred.
  • Experience in recruiting at the collegiate level is preferred.
