Job Summary:
Connecticut College, a highly selective private liberal arts college in New London, Connecticut and a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), is conducting a regional search for an Assistant Coach Track and Field. This position is full time (37.5 hours/week), academic year (40 weeks), and is benefits eligible. This position is a term appointment ending June 30, 2020 with possibility of renewal.
General Duties &
The Assistant Coach Track and Field will assist the head coaches in coaching/teaching, including full responsibility for designing and implementing the training plan for the sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multis; execute recruitment plans including hosting on-campus visits, development of prospect data base; frequent communication with prospects through e-mail, phone, and text messaging; assist in daily program operations including communication with team on workout times, meeting times, coordinate team operations, coordinate travel plans and home meet preparations. The Assistant Coach will adhere to all NCAA, NESCAC and College regulations and represent the institution with the highest professionalism.
Bachelor’s degree and two years of track & field coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level and/or three years of collegiate track & field competition experience required in the applicable events. Knowledge of NCAA and NESCAC rules preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience and effective communication skills; highest ethical standards regarding sportsmanship, integrity, and professionalism; must be a team player and have strong interpersonal skills in dealing with current and recruited collegiate athletes.
