Emporia State University, a Division II institution and member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach of Men’s and Women’s Track and Field with an emphasis in the Throwing events. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred). Successful record in coaching track and field required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required. Must have excellent communication skills, be able to recruit high quality student-athletes, and have the ability to interact with a variety of publics in a higher education environment. Duties include being responsible for assisting the head coach with developing and training student-athletes, coordinating recruiting, coordinating meet management for home contests, administering the strength-training program for the throws events, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, assisting with program administration and other duties as assigned by the head coach. This is a twelve-month position. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
