Wheaton College, an NCAA Division III institution located in Norton, Massachusetts, is looking for a motivated, energetic, passionate and caring individual to help lead the men’s and women’s track and field programs. Vertical and horizontal jumps knowledge is preferred. The Assistant Coach helps prepare the teams for a full intercollegiate varsity season, help execute a recruiting plan and evaluate and identify qualified student-athletes. Commitment to working and teaching within an environment that embraces the holistic development of the student-athlete. Serve in an administrative capacity as needed and directed by the Athletic Administration. Comply with all NCAA Division III, NEWMAC and Wheaton College rules and regulations.
-Assist to organize and conduct team practices to prepare team for competition. Ability to teach vertical and horizontal jumps is preferred. Travel locally, regionally and nationally for any regular or post season events.
-Assist to execute a recruiting plan for qualified prospective student-athletes.
-Assist the head strength and conditioning coach with teaching, monitoring and execution of the department’s training program.
-Help to oversee student-athletes academic progress and be available for consultation and support for overall student-athletes well-being.
-Serve in an administrative capacity as needed, including but not limited to, game management assignments, run high school track meets, assist the athletics communication office with press releases related to the teams.
-Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
