SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY is seeking a full-time assistant coach for its combined men’s and women’s track and field/cross country program for the 2020-21 school year, and beyond.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for this position include a bachelor’s degree and competitive experience in the middle distance and/or distance events at the intercollegiate level or beyond. Candidates with competitive experience in the combined events at the intercollegiate level or beyond will also be considered. Coaching experience at the high school or intercollegiate level, and/or an advanced degree, and/or USATF/USTFCCCA coaching certification of any level are, of course, a plus.
DUTIES of this position will include assisting the head coach with all the administrative aspects of conducting an intercollegiate track and field/cross country program. It will also include assisting the head coach with the day-to-day training and development of student-athletes in the middle distance and distance events throughout the cross country, indoor and outdoor seasons.
COMPENSATION for this position will include a full-time, 12 month salary, and a generous benefits package. The salary is competitive, but will depend, in part, upon the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY is a mid-size, Catholic, liberal arts institution located in Fairfield, Connecticut, and is a NCAA Division 1 member of the Northeast Conference (NEC). We conduct a comprehensive, broad-based track and field/cross country program, and we currently have approximately 85 women and 55 men on our rosters.
