Position Overview: The Assistant Track Coach plays a crucial role in supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of our Women’s Indoor & Outdoor Track, Men’s Cross Country, and Women’s Cross Country programs. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our student-athletes, helping them achieve their academic and athletic potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in recruiting top talent, including high school and transfer athletes, through year-round recruitment activities such as attending games/events, making phone calls, and corresponding with coaches and players.
• Support the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and pre/post workouts, ensuring that athletes are prepared for competition.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coaching strategies and techniques to enhance the performance of our teams.
• Record and analyze statistics as needed, providing valuable insights to improve team performance.
• Motivate and mentor student-athletes, fostering a positive and competitive environment.
• Abide by and enforce the rules and regulations established by Winston-Salem State University, the CIAA, and the NCAA.
