Job Description

Allegheny College, a member of the NCAA Division III and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country Coach. The coach will have specific expertise coaching the throwing events. This is a full-time, twelve-month position that includes a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary. The ideal candidate is seeking advanced experience in the college coaching profession.

A Bachelor’s degree is required; however a Master’s degree is preferred. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist head coach with the organization and direction of all aspects of a competitive track & field and cross country programs. Specific responsibilities include identification and recruitment of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes; regular practice sessions and game preparation; and assisting with overseeing the administrative process for team travel, program budgets, public/alumni relations and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics and Recreation. Assistants should also understand the Division III philosophy and thrive in an extremely motivated, team oriented atmosphere. Event management and summer facility responsibilities will be assigned by the Athletic Director.
