Job Description:
D’Youville University is seeking applications for the position of Associate Head Coach, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field. This is a full-time, 10-month, non-tenure track position that works primarily with Track and Field team. The successful candidate will possess the ability to effectively communicate with a range of constituents and contribute to a positive work environment. The University is a member of the East Coast Conference (ECC) within NCAA Division II.
The Associate Head Coach is responsible for providing assistance to the Director of Track and Field. All personnel must adhere to all safety standards, ensure the well-being of student-athletes, and support their academic success.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Assisting with all aspects of coaching, recruiting, administrating, and managing a NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field program
  • Primary responsibilities include coaching track and field, specifically the sprints/hurdles/jumps/throws, while assisting with other events as needed
  • Recruiting academically and athletically talented students Monitoring the academic progress and supporting the retention of student athletes. Assisting with the team budget and scheduling practices
  • Ensuring compliance with the NCAA, conference, and departmental rules and regulations
  • Participating in student development initiatives
  • Assisting with the coordination of community service efforts Supporting team fundraising efforts
  • Represent the Director of Track and Field in meetings, speaking engagements, etc. when needed
  • Transporting athletes to cross country or track and field meets
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Track and Field

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Collegiate Cross Country and/or Track and field coaching or competition experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Effective written, communication, and presentation skills

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience as a collegiate sprints/hurdles or horizontal/vertical jumps coach
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations
  • USTFCCCA or USATF coaching certifications or coursework
