Head Cross Country and Track Coach: Louisburg College, a small, Methodist affiliated two-year residential institution in eastern North Carolina with an exceptional athletic tradition, thirty miles North of Raleigh, N.C. invites applications for this full-time position. Responsibilities include planning and organizing all aspects of the Cross County/Track program, including recruiting and scheduling. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to recruit, develop, and motivate student-athletes. This position will have other duties as assigned within the athletic department. Master’s degree preferred. Essential Job Functions

  • Responsibilities include the recruitment, development, academic monitoring and retention of student athletes.
  • Arranges all scheduling and travel related tasks.
  • Manages and directs practice schedules, team supervision during competition, as well as travel, meets and other program events.
  • Assists the Athletic Administration in marketing and promotion of the cross country/track and field programs.
  • Monitors student-athletes’ academic progress toward graduation at the college
  • Oversight of the maintenance and inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of general admissions processes and procedures practiced by post-secondary education institutions
  • Must possess a current driver’s license valid and a driving record insurable by the College’s insurer.
  • Successfully pass a background check
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours to include evening and weekend hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the general public.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute organization and department policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Recruiting student-athletes at the Collegiate level.
  • Experience coaching Cross Country/Track & Field at the Collegiate level.

Employment Status

  • Full time, exempt position with comprehensive benefits program including health insurance; personal and sick leave along with a matching retirement. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and work experience. Anticipated hours will be flexible including evenings and weekends.
  • Salary will be determined by considering the candidate’s education and experience.
