Graduate Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field
This is a 12-month renewable position that reports directly to the Head Cross Country Coach. The successful candidate must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Converse College. Compensation will include tuition remission for up to six credit hours per semester. Stipend and housing are included.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Track & Field graduate assistant coach responsibilities include assisting with all aspects of the Converse College’s Track and Field and Cross Country program under the direction of the head coach. Specific duties may include; directing practices for distance events, travel, recruiting, mentoring student-athletes and overseeing weekly study halls.
Bachelor’s Degree & acceptance into a Graduate Studies program at Converse College is required. Previous experience as an athlete/coach is preferred. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and excel at working independently while also communicating well with others.
USATF or USTFCCCA Level 1 or higher certified

Converse College is a liberal arts masters university in Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States. Converse consists of a co-ed undergraduate as well as co-ed graduate, online and summer programs. It was established by a group of Spartanburg residents and named after textile pioneer Dexter Edgar Converse. It has an undergraduate enrollment of about 800 who come from throughout the United States, along with some international students. The graduate enrollment is made up of about 550 students.
