Job Description

 

The Graduate Assistant Track & Field/Cross Country Coach will provide support and assistance to the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches for the Bellarmine University Track & Field and Cross Country programs. The Graduate Assistant receives graduate tuition covering up to 6 hours per semester (excluding summer) and a stipend.

Specific duties include:

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of practices, training sessions, meet preparation, travel, recruiting, equipment management, and other duties as assigned.
  • Coach student-athletes in an assigned event area based on experience and program needs, including distance/cross country, sprints/hurdles, jumps, throws, and/or multi-events.
  • Support the development of student-athletes through technical instruction, event-specific training, and performance analysis.
  • Recruit qualified prospective student-athletes while adhering to NCAA Division I, conference, and University standards.
  • Assist with monitoring the academic progress and overall well-being of student-athletes.
  • Assist with meet management, team operations, and organization of camps and clinics as needed.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of people in a manner that positively represents the University, its athletics programs, and personnel.
  • Assist in the organization of social media, recruiting materials, and sports information content.
  • Abide by and comply with NCAA, conference, and University rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the University’s intercollegiate athletics program by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work is performed in both outdoor and indoor environments and may require travel.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during competition seasons.
  • Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Admittance into a Bellarmine Graduate Degree program
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
  • Ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment
