Upper Iowa University invites applications for a Graduate Assistant Coach in Cross Country/Track & Field. This is a 10-month non-benefit position. Compensation for the position includes a monthly stipend and tuition assistance.
The Graduate Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach at Upper Iowa University reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful Cross Country/Track & Field program at the NCAA Division II level.
Duties include, but not limited to: recruitment of highly skilled and academically qualified student athletes, monitor academic progress, eligibility, and effectively analyze and teach the fundamentals skills and strategies in the Pole Vault/Multi Events. Plan, organize, conduct, and evaluate practice sessions along with develop, implement, and evaluate meet plans and strategies. Serve as a leader, mentor, and role-model to the student athletes of the program. Oversee administrative processes and procedures as assigned. Ensure compliance with all Department, University, NCAA, and NSIC policies, procedures, and regulations.
Applicants must be admitted into a graduate program at Upper Iowa University and maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0. Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree. The applicant should have experience working with a men’s/women’s organized cross country/track & field program (collegiate, AAU, high school, etc.) Must have an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
