Prerequisites: The minimal requirements for taking the Advanced Endorsement course are 305: Endurance Event Specialist Certification, 310: Strength & Conditioning Coach Certification or 407: Weight Training, 409: Sports Science for Endurance, and at least one of the following: 403: Testing & Measurement, 405: Sports Psychology, or 406: Injury Management.

TheĀ Advanced Endorsement in Long DistanceĀ course topics will concentrate on the physiological and psychological concepts of elite-level distance running. Biomechanical technique, aerobic and anaerobic training, peaking strategy, and psychological inventories for the events from 3200-10,000 meters will be the focus of the presentations. The steeplechase events for men and women are a part of this course. This course is applicable to both collegiate and elite high school coaches.
