Job Description

The Graduate Assistant Coach, under the general supervision and direction of the Head Coach and oversight of the Athletic Director, is responsible to support the efforts of the Head Coach in conducting a successful track & field program. Duties specified below will be the specific responsibilities for which the Grad Assistant Coach.

Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the Mount Union Track and Field Program to be competitive at the Ohio Athletic
• Conference level and NCAA level in accordance with college, NCAA and Ohio Athletic Conference policies.
• Provide coaching in support of the head coach’s plan to assist all athletes in realizing their potential as a student-athlete at the University.
• Attend practices, training sessions, team meetings and meets (home and away). (Specific time commitment required will be delineated by the Head Coach)
• Grad Assistant Coaches will be expected to make themselves available when necessary for training in rules compliance.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Experience working with the sprint/hurdle events preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and related professional experience, or a combination of experiences leading to similar qualification, required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of people.
• Flexibility of time necessary to make commitment to varying time needs of the position.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the University.
