Job Description

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in all event areas will be considered.
  • Provide coaching and instruction to student-athletes.
  • Plan and participate in hosting track and cross country meets, camps, and clinics.
  • Participate in fundraising and public relations activities.
  • Assist head coach in coordinating practice logistics, assisting with team travel to meets.
  • Assist with recruiting, scouting, campus visits, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Coaching, participating, and/or recruiting experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Experience in the explosive events is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PSAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of student-athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators.
  • Valid, unrestricted US driver’s license.
  • Experience with engaging Social Media/Content Creation is preferred.
  • Must be admissible to one of PennWest Edinboro or PennWest Global Online’s graduate degree programs.

Location:
Pennsylvania Western University Edinboro is located 15 miles south of Erie, Pennsylvania. The university is the region’s largest and most comprehensive public institution. The 585-acre campus is located in a picturesque area, approximately 100 miles from the educational and cultural centers of Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Buffalo.

Compensation:
Graduate Assistant benefits include 9 credit hours tuition waiver and $3,600 stipend per semester. Students are responsible for any fees.
