Job Description

The graduate assistant coach is responsible for supporting all aspects of the track and field program with an emphasis in the throws and/or combined events. This position requires competitive experience in the event area, along with the ability to plan, organize, and conduct effective training sessions that promote student-athlete development and competitive success.

The graduate assistant coach will assist in the implementation of strength and conditioning components as appropriate, while also preparing student-athletes for competition through technical instruction, meet preparation, and ongoing performance support. The position requires knowledge of NCAA, conference, and institutional rules, guidelines, and standards, as well as full availability for team travel.

In addition to coaching responsibilities, the graduate assistant coach will support the head coach in general administrative duties, including identifying prospective student-athletes, ordering and maintaining equipment, assisting with summer camps, and completing other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to the overall mission and success of the program.
