Goucher College fields 21 intercollegiate teams competing in the NCAA Division III as a part of the Landmark Conference. We are seeking a graduate assistant to work in conjunction with the head men’s and women’s cross country/track & field coach in all aspects related to the operation of the track and field program. The graduate assistant must successfully enroll as a full-time graduate student in the Graduate Programs in Education (GPE).

Responsibilities include effectively recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes and will assist the head coach with practices and meet management. Other responsibilities will include assisting with all aspects of coaching, planning, day-to-day office operations, administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

This position, available Fall semester 2020, is approximately 20 hours per week and may require weekend and evening work, including team travel. Applicant must be willing to work with various campus constituents such as Admissions, Facilities Management Services, Development, and Student Administrative Services.


Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree, with at least an overall 3.0 undergraduate GPA to be considered for admission to GPE; at least two years of driving experience on a state-issued license. Successful candidates must have experience coaching track & field and a background in either horizontal and vertical jumps, hurdles or sprints or throws is strongly preferred. Strong communication skills are also required. This two-year position includes full tuition remission and a competitive stipend. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.
