Job Description

-Assist the Head Cross Country Coach to develop, manage, and successfully coach distance athletes
-Assist with recruiting
-Assist with equipment management including inventory and preparing gear for the track and field and cross-country teams
-Ensure strict adherence to all EIU, OVC, and NCAA by-laws and regulations
-Ensure adherence with established institutional compliance rules, policies, and procedures as well as ethical standards of behavior
– Assist with academic performance checks with student-athletes
-Assist with home meet management including set-up, tear down, and any other duties assigned by the head coach
-Assist with EIU track and field and cross-country social media accounts
-Assist the operations of sport camps and/or clinics
-Assist in all department and track and field/xc fundraising events
-Assist in coordinating team meals and award banquets
– Attend all departmental training sessions and meetings, read and comply with all departmental policy manuals
-Assist in planning and implementing daily practice sessions
-Assist in team travel by driving vehicles to competition
