Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Expertise in all events area focus will be considered, throws preferred.
• Plan and participate in hosting track and cross country meets, camps, and clinics.
• Participate in fundraising and public relations activities.
• Assist head coach in coordinating practice logistics, assisting with team travel to meets and off-site practices.
• Assist with recruiting, scouting, campus visits, etc.
• Assist in the counseling of student athletes in academic and personal matters.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Willingness to put in effort to build a successful track and field/cross country program.
• Collegiate track and field experience and ability to transfer the knowledge and skills gained to student athletes.
• Knowledge of conference, MEC and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Proven track record of consistency modeling positive behaviors at all times.
• Strong follow-up and follow-through skills as well as ability to plan, organize and control projects through to competition.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
• Valid, unrestricted US driver’s license.
• Valid CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.

Graduate Assistant benefits include 18 credit hours of tuition waiver per year and a housing waiver in select campus housing. Students are responsible for any fees. Students have the option to purchase a meal plan. It is not required even if living in campus housing.
