Job Description

Minot State University is now accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Track and Field Coach beginning in August 2020. The position will assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program.

Experience coaching the horizontal jumps (LJ/TJ) events AND/OR with program operations at the high school or collegiate level is preferred. A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Compensation will be a stipend and tuition waiver. The successful candidate must be accepted and enrolled into a graduate program at Minot State. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

• Will oversee jumps group. Candidate will be instrumental in setting up practice and meet plans for student-athletes.
• Assist with the daily operations of the program which includes office operations, team travel arrangements, administrative tasks, team transportation to practice and competitions, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or assistant coaches.
• Know NCAA Division II rules and regulations to ensure compliance with departmental, university, conference and national policies. Will be required to be certified to recruit at the NCAA Division II level
• Recruit and Retain student-athletes in accordance with university, department, and conference requirements and policies
• Promote unity within the athletic department by working in corporation together and by supporting all university personnel
• Assist in fundraising efforts of the team
• Develop teamwork, morale, sportsmanship, courtesy, fair play, academic excellence and strict adherence to rules of training and conduct
• Other duties as assigned by Head Coach or Athletic Department
