Madonna University, an NAIA institution and a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Track & Field Coach with an emphasis on sprinting, jumping, or throwing. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in every aspect of a college program and be fully utilized by the coaching staff. The goal of this position is to prepare the GA for a paid position upon completing their degree.

Responsibilities Coaching

Assisting the Director of Track & Field in all aspects of daily operations of the intercollegiate track & field program including but not limited to: recruiting, coaching, scouting, team communication, coordination of team travel, monitoring eligibility status and promotion of academic progress for student-athletes, fitting and maintenance of team apparel and equipment, and assist with fundraising activities all while adhering to NAIA, WHAC, and University rules and regulations. A high level of organization and attention to detail is necessary for this position. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Also, as a member of the athletics department there may be other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Department

Possible departmental duties include: Academic Support, Weight room Manager, Equipment Manager. Preferred qualifications include: Experience working in an Intercollegiate Athletic Department; Experience with forms of new media including, but not limited to website management, social media, video and mobile; Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, media, and athletics staff; Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment requiring critical thinking, multitasking, and organization skills; Experience in intercollegiate athletics. Availability to work nights and weekends.

Job Type: 20 hours/week

A bachelor’s degree is required and this position is conditional based on acceptance into a Madonna University Master’s program.
