Job Description

 

Hello everyone. I am looking for a graduate assistant, particularly someone to help out for track in the sprints, hurdles, and jumps areas. Expertise in other field events could also potentially work.

General Summary:
The University of Dallas is seeking candidates for the position of Graduate Assistant for Track & Field and Cross-Country. UD is a member of NCAA DIII and the Southern Collegiate Athletics Conference. Preference will be given to candidates who have backgrounds in sprints/hurdles/jumps. The position reports directly to the head coach. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with workouts that will include two-a-days
  • Assist with recruiting
  • Assist with program-wide social media engagement projects
  • Assist with team logistics such as training equipment preparation, gear inventory and distribution, and travel arrangements
  • Assist with prospective student-athlete recruitment as directed by the coaching staff
  • Assist coaching staff with NCAA Compliance documentation, logs, and ensuring adherence to NCAA rules
  • Assist with transportation with rental SUV’s and vans.

Position Requirements:

  • Distance background
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must be accepted into the UD Graduate School
  • Must have a good driving record
  • Pass a background check
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently, when necessary, with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of UD, SCAC, and NCAA compliance policies and procedures

Hour Requirements / Schedule:

  • Position includes some evenings, weekends, and university holidays.
