A stipend of $6,500 and tuition waiver in the amount of 18 credit hours is provided for the academic year. The tuition waiver can be applied to fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Position Description & Details
Minot State University is seeking candidates for a position of Graduate Assistant for Track & Field. Minot State University is a proud member of NCAA DII and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The successful candidate should have a background in the sprints, hurdles, jumps. Or a combination of at least 2 of the 3. The position reports directly to the head coach. Responsibilities include planning the practices and training for the sprint/hurdle/jumps event groups, coaching the sprints/hurdles/jumps during competitions. As well as recruiting, home meet management and other duties as assigned. This is a two- year position.
Offices hours during the week required. Duties as assigned.
Graduate assistantships provide students a learning opportunity working alongside athletic department supervisor in a variety of experiences required in their career field. Graduate assistants are assigned to a supervisor and have specific job responsibilities delegated prior to the beginning of the experience. The selected experience should fit the GA’s background and interests and contribute to the needs of the department. Foremost, the assistantship should be a learning experience that contributes to the student’s growth as a professional in or outside of higher education.
Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate must be accepted into the Minot State University Graduate School and pass a background check. Bachelor’s Degree required.
