Belmont University’s Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Coach position with its Track & Field/Cross Country program for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Cross Country/Track & Field and will assist with various coaching, recruiting, and administrative tasks.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into Belmont University’s Sport Administration graduate program or another approved graduate program. The ideal candidate will have competed at the NCAA Division I level, performing with distinction as the member of a competitive track & field or cross country program. Experience with jumps/multi events and desire to be a coach is a plus. Additional requirements include strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills; the ability to work well in a team environment; the capacity to model mature, responsible leadership. The candidate must be willing to work weekends and holidays and travel with the track and cross country teams to competitions. Applicants must submit to a criminal background check, subject to review and approval by Belmont University.
Compensation: The Graduate Assistant position is a two-year commitment beginning with the 2021-22 academic year and includes a tuition waiver of 6 graduate credit hours plus student fees per term (summer terms excluded), up to 24 total credit hours. The position does not include a stipend. Graduate assistants must maintain at least 6 hours of graduate-level credit per semester to be eligible.
