Job Description
Graduate assistant or part-time assistant coaching position for track and field. The ideal candidate will assist with the sprint program and have background in sprint training. The candidate must be willing to incorporate and utilize the Adams State University philosophies in their coaching methods. This position will also allow for further education via Masters degree programs offered at Adams State University.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Provide coaching and instruction to student-athletes participating in the program;
- Assist the head coach with administrative duties and program oversight as directed;
- Support the head coach;
- Assist with actively recruiting new student-athletes to the program within ASU and NCAA Division II guidelines;
- Support the academic progress of all team members;
- Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and conduct representative of the coaching profession and ASU Athletics;
- Maintain compliance with rules and regulations of all conference and NCAA;
- Assist with general facility upkeep and maintenance;
- Complete the annual NCAA coach’s rules test;
- Attend college and departmental meetings as required;
- Ensure student-athlete compliance with all University policies applicable to all students;
- Mentor and develop a positive culture for student-athletes.
- Related duties as assigned by the head coach.
If graduate assistant is selected, pay will be: 9 credit hours of tuition stipend for both fall and spring semesters, plus $600/month stipend. If part time assistant coach is selected pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and number of hours worked.
