Job Description

The University of Rhode Island is accepting applications for a full-time Head Coach of Men’s Cross Country/Track & Field. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, and implementation of all phases of a highly competitive Division I Men’s Cross Country/Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field program.

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; Minimum five years of collegiate cross country and/or track and field coaching experience; Demonstrated experience in recruiting collegiate cross country and/or track and field student athletes; Demonstrated experience supporting student athlete’s academic progress and achievements; Demonstrated leadership skills; Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills; Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills; Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills; Demonstrated experience in fund-raising; Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations; and, Demonstrated ability to adhere to University, NCAA, and Atlantic 10 Conference rules and regulations. Appointment is subject to NCAA violation clearance and NCAA Rules Certification.

PREFERRED: Master’s degree; Demonstrated Division I collegiate cross country and/or track and field coaching and recruiting experience; and, demonstrated coaching education certifications or equivalent (i.e. USATF Level 1, 2, or USTFCCCA Academy).
