Head Cross Country/Assistant Track & Field Coach

Bridgewater College, a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is seeking applications for the position of Head Cross Country/Assistant Track & Field Coach, to begin immediately. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

*Handling all facets of a Division III men’s and women’s cross country program and assist with the men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field program.
*Recruiting prospective student-athletes who fit the mission and culture of the program and the College.
*Programming, organizing, and administering training and competition plans for all athletes.
*Planning and hosting home competitions.
*Budget management in conjunction with the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field.
*Responsible for program fundraising initiatives and alumni engagement.
*Assist with program marketing and branding on a multitude of platforms, including social media.
*Providing mentoring and support for the student-athletes, particularly regarding academics and athlete development.
*Complying with all NCAA, conference and college policies and regulations.

*Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
*3+ years of successful collegiate head coaching experience or 2+ years of successful collegiate assistance coaching experience preferred.
*USTFCCCA Distance Specialist Certification and/or USATF Level 2 Distance preferred.
*USTFCCCA Technical Certification and/or USATF Level 1 preferred.
*Competitive collegiate running experience preferred.
*Demonstrated recruiting experience required.
*Demonstrated meet management experience required.
*Basic competency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
*Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as the first coeducational college in Virginia and has an educational philosophy of developing the whole person and equipping students to become leaders with a strong sense of personal accountability and civic responsibility. The College offers 63 majors and minors, 29 concentrations and emphases, pre-professional programs, dual degree programs, teacher education and certification, and its first graduate program in athletic training. Bridgewater’s growing enrollment includes students from 30 states and eight countries. The College is a member of NCAA Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, and sponsors 23 intercollegiate athletic teams and an equestrian team that competes in the IHSA.
