Job Description

Directly responsible for overall direction of the men’s and women’s track and field program. Involving recruiting, retaining members, assembling/developing a competent assistant coaching staff, and overall in-season/off-season strategies/programs.

The Head Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach will also serve in a second college assigned position. The employment in the above position is contingent upon the Head Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach being employed in both assigned positions.

2. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly, concisely, logically and coherently.

4. Establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, staff, administrators, clients and general public.
5. Assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise good judgement when making decisions.
6. Possess strong human relation skills.
7. Effectively recruit/retain quality students and athletes.
8. Continue to develop a Men’s and Women’s Track and Field program which the entire campus/community/Area V can be proud of.
9. Effectively develop a relationship with the State of Iowa Track and Field coaches to enhance our Iowa recruitment efforts.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. College playing experience preferred, coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred. Must hold a current Class C Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement or willingness to complete prior to athletic season.
