Head Cross Country Coach / Assistant Track & Field Coach (Distance)

Southern New Hampshire University, a member of the Northeast-10 Conference and Division II, is seeking applications for Head Cross Country Coach / Assistant Track & Field Coach. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of Cross Country and Track and Field. The position will coach both Men and Women’s Cross Country teams and Women’s Track & Field distance student-athletes (men’s track and field is not sponsored).

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
• Organization and implementation of the assessment, identification and recruitment of qualified student-athletes. Works closely with Admissions and Financial Aid in recruitment of student-athletes
• Maintain schedule for the entire year to include, individual meetings, individual workouts, pre-season workouts, post-season workouts, in-season and off-season training/conditioning programs, as well as summer program workouts for men and women’s distance athletes
• Maintain XC roster size as established by the Director of XC/TF
• Budget and travel management in conjunction with the Director of XC/TF
• Assist program fundraising initiatives and alumni engagement
• Maintain memberships and participation in the various athletic conferences and sport associations and affiliations
• Providing mentoring and support for the student-athletes, particularly regarding academics, athletics and personal development
• Comply with all NCAA, conference and college policies and regulations
• Ability to drive and transport student-athletes to and from practice or competitions when needed


• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Competitive collegiate running experience preferred
• Direct involvement with women’s distance running/training preferred
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the university’s auto insurance carrier
• Strong interpersonal communication skills required

Work Hours:
Travel and variable hours including nights and weekends are required.
